TABLE TENNIS REP. MATCH
N. Canterbury Beats Ellesmere, 42-30 North Canterbury beat Ellesmere by 42 matches to 30 in an inter-sub-association representative table tennis match played at Southbridge. Last season North Canterbury won 68-4. North Canterbury had a distinct advantage in the men's division, winning 29-7, but Ellesmere had a distinct superiority of 23-13 in the women’s division. Division results were:— Men. —First section: North Canterbury 9, Ellesmere 3. Second section: North Canterbury 12, Ellesmere 0. Third section: North Canterbury 8, Ellesmere 4. Women.—First section: Ellesmere 6, North Canterbury 6. Second section: Ellesmere 10, North Canterbury 2. Third section: Ellesmere 7, North Canterbury 5. Of individual matches played, North Canterbury won 32 singles (22 men's and 10 women’s) and 10 doubles (seven men’s and three women’s). Ellesmere won 22 singles (five men’s and 17 women’s), and eight doubles (two men’s and six women’s).
