Parliament’s Diary
The report of the Royal Society on the Omega navigation system was tabled when Parliament resumed yesterday afternoon.
The annual reports of the Director-General of Forests and of the National Provident Fund board were also tabled.
Ministers answered 11 questions. The Whangarei County Council Empowering Bill was introduced and read a first time. The Tawa Borough Empowering Bill and the Auckland Regional Authority Amendment (No. 2) Bill were passed through remaining stages. The Budget debate was then resumed until the House adjourned at 4.30 p.m. so that members could attend the annual meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. During the evening, the Budget debate was concluded.
