Wool In The Swim

(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 8. A relay race across the English Channel next month would be part of the campaign by the International Wool Secretariat to publicise new standards of shrink resistance in wool knitwear, the Wool Board announced today. Forty-two young swimmers from seven European countries will compete for the right to give cheques to charities of their choice. All will be wearing pure wool sweaters produced to a standard of shrink resistance which is now manda-

tory for knitwear bearing the Woolmark. The race will be held under the direction of the Channel Swimming Association on Sunday, September 15. Students from Britain, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Switzerland have already chosen their teams and begun training. The French team is now being nominated. Each team will consist of three men and three women. Each student will swim for one hour.
