Mr B. W. Payne, a member of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Institute of Draughtsmen, has been awarded the A.M. L. Armstrong Award (Class A) for 1967. The award is presented each year by the institute in recognition of conspicuous success in the New Zealand certificate in draughting.
Dr J. M. Austin, reader in chemistry at the University of Canterbury, was welcomed to the Burnside High School board of governors to replace Professor A. S. Carrington as a university representative. Mr C. H. Perkins has been elected a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, London.
