MINIATURE TREE CLUB

A local branch has been formed of the Bonsai Society of New Zealand, for the preservation of the ancient Japanese art of miniature trees cultivated and grown outdoors in containers. A small number of members attended the first meeting. The club intends to hold monthly meetings with displays, discussions, demonstrations, and speakers. Occasional outings to the bush will be made to collect native specimens suitable for dwarfing. The president is Mr G. D. Bell and the secretary is Mrs J. H. Vernon.
