REPAIRS TO BRIDGES
Landowners Offer Loan (N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, July 9. A 810,000 interest-free loan will be offered to the Rangitikei County Council by four Taihape landowners. They hope this gesture will allow the council to begin immediately to replace the TarUarua and Rangitikei River bridges oh the Taihape-Napier road. The landowners, Messrs H. Stodart (Springvale Station), D. Chambers (Mangaohane Station), W. Williams (Ohinewairua Station), and R. Robson (Erewhon Station), collectively farm more than 200,000 acres in the district, and regularly transport the bulk of their produce by road to Napier.
