Team May Go To Deaf Games
A New Zealand deaf athletic team will be sent to the world deaf games in Belgrade, in August, 1969. if sufficient finance can be obtained. This was agreed at the fourth annual meeting of the New Zealand Deaf Amateur Sports Association. held fn Christchurch ■The main activities of the association in the near future will involve the raising of finance for the venture and the selection of a team. The following officers were elected: Patron, Sir Woolf Fisher; vicepatron, Mr M. Shelton; president, Mr C. M. Kay; vice-presi-dents, Rev. Mother (St Dominic's School), Mr Keith Hay, Mr E Kirk, Mr H. Pickering, Mr A. j* Young, Mr G.\D. Griffiths; publicity officer and organiser, Mr B. McHattie; secretary, Mr J. m Hunt; treasurer, Mr S. E N Smith; solicitor, Mr J. a Atkins; auditor, Mr D. R. JaggarSmith: executive committee. Mr M. Ward ’Christchurch), Mr J p -Mcßae (Auckland), Mr D tSmitfi (Wellington), Mr D Beech (Manawatu).
