Czech Woman Succumbs (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BONN, July 10. A 50-year-old Czech woman who received a new heart in the first Eastern Europe heart transplant operation, died late last night. Radio Bratislavia reported today. The woman, Mrs Elena Horvathova, who was given the heart of a 46-year-old man. died aljout five hours after the operation, the radio said. Preliminary reports on the operation, done yesterday morning at the Bratislava medical school hospital, said the heart was functioning properly. Professor Askarel Siska, who led the medical team, said that the woman had been admitted to hospital with a critical condition with a faulty heart valve. The risk of a normal operation on her had been considered equal to a transplant, the Czechoslovak News Agency, Ceteka, said.
