Market Recovers In Heavy Trading
The sharemarket recovered a little on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Both lists firmed, in heavy trading over a wide range. Leaders on balance made a solid advance.
New Zealand Petroleum again headed New Zealand rises with a gain of 10c to 330 c. New Zealand Insurance rose 8c to 298 c, and South British Insurance recovered 2c to 392 c. New Zealand Forest Products rose 3c, to 313 c. Charles Begg, the subject of take-over rumours, gained 3c, to 61c. Other recoveries were made by Dominion Breweries, Wright, Stephenson, U.E.B. Industries, New Zealand Refrigerating, Southland Frozen Heat, and N.Z. Breweries. In the overseas list good gains were made by 8.H.P., 10c to 2590 c, Bank of New South Wales, 40c to 740 c, A.C.I. 15c to 340 c, and Mount Isa Mines 35c to 900 c. Among the relatively nar-
row falls, A. B. Cables, downr 5c to 245 c, and Ballins Indus-
