Fitness Tests
A physical fitness expert who has tested more than 50,000 men and women, including several Olympic Games athletes, in his work in human research for more than 30 years, will arrive in New Zealand next month with his wife to promote a national fitness campaign, sponsored by the national council of Y.M.CJL clubs. Dr Thomas K. Cureton and Mrs Cureton will be in Christchurch from September 2 to 5, when a campaign will be organised by the Christchurch Y.MCA. Details of the programme have not yet been made final. Mr Cureton is director of the physical fitness laboratory and professor of education at the University of Illinois, and has written several books about physical fitness. Mrs Cureton is an expert on physical fitness for women.
