All cooking vegetablei wero dearer at the Christchurch produce markets yesterday. Spinach and carrots increased the most from those auctioned last week. Carrots, at up to 31.20 a case, were 40c dearer and spinach, selling at up to 32.50 a case, was at least 31 a case dearer. Marrows, beetroot, pumpkins, cauliflowers, parsnips and sprouts were all at least 15c a case dearer. Tomatoes fetched up to 60c per lb, mandarins were 50c cheaper when quarter cases fetched 32. Chinese gooseberries were about 15c a case dearer at 82 to 33 a case. Cooking plums sold at between 50c and 70c a case.
