Railwaymen Ask Advice
Members of the Canterbury branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Workers agreed yesterday to ask their national council to define a policy on whether railwaymen should support to the full any action taken by the Federation of Labour to enforce a 7.6 per cent wage increase. The railwaymen themselves are not subject to general wage orders, being covered by ruling rates surveys.
