UNIVERSITY VACANCIES AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY LECTURER IN PUBLIC FINANCE APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment to a vacant post of Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Public Finance in the Faculty of Economics. The successful candidate who should have an interest in public finance theory and policy, will be required to take up duty as early as possible. The Department of Accounting and Public Finance offers courses towards the pass and honours degree of Bachelor of Economics. The Faculty is planning specialised courses in business and commercial law including international studies and the appointee should be well qualified to undertake major responsibilities for implementation of the programme. The Faculty also hopes to offer greater specialisation in public law particularly public international law and if a suitable candidate is not available in business law an appointment may be made of a candidate especially qualified in public international law. The Faculty of Law offers a full undergraduate course in Law and has facilities for postgraduate courses tn various branches of public and private law. The degree of Bachelor of Laws in this University is recognised for purposes of admission to practice in both New South Wales and Victoria and this in turn leads to admission to Federal jurisdictions. All three posts are at the level of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer. The appointees will be expected to take up duty by March, 1969. The Department is particularly interested in making appointments in the fields of British History (17th-20th centuries), Ancient History, and European History of the Mediaeval, Renaissance and Reformation periods. As new courses of study are to be introduced, however, applications would be welcome from specialists in any other field of history. The Department of History offers courses leading to the degree of Bachelor and supervises students for the degrees of Master and Doctor of Philosophy.
