Arts Council Change

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 5. The chairman of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council, Mr G. G. G. Watson, has resigned because of ill health. Mr Watson had been chairman since the council’s inception in April, 1964. The new chairman is Mr R. S. V. Simpson, who has been deputy chairman since 1966. He is chairman of directors for several companies and a director of others.

Both Mr Watson and Mr Simpson are barristers and solicitors.
