Stock Threat Lessened

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 5. Queenstown last night had a 15-degree frost, and another dear day today has lessened the threat ef stock losses, according to a spokesman for the Department of Agriculture at Queenstown. Snow is still lying on the ground to a depth of 7in but planes were up this morning, for the first time, inspecting stock on hill-country farms. Farmers in the Wanaka district were snow-raking this morning, and feeding-out from helicopter air drops wa* started.

The Department of Agriculture in Alexandra this morning had not heard of any stock losses in the area.
