France To Stand By

The New Zealand international, K. France, will be standing by today to play in his first soccer match since the first day of the season.

France has been named as one of the permitted substitutes by his club, Technical, for its southern league match against Christchurch City at English Park. France suffered a double fractured ankle against St Kilda last April, and spent seven weeks in plaster. The Technical playercoach, J. S. Chalmers, will play, although he has not fully recovered from an injured knee. If Chalmers has to retire, France would probably take his place.
