New Player For Lions

The England flanker, B. West, will replace the injured K. Goodall in the British Lions Rugby team in South Africa.
The 19-year-old West, 15st and 6ft 4in, was an original selection for the tour, but was forced to drop out the day before the team departed. Goodall himself was a replacement for B. John, the Welsh fly-half, who broke a collar bone in the first test. However, Goodall dislocated a thumb and broke two bones in his right hand in his first game, against Eastern Transvaal, last Saturday. Although the tour is more than half over in terms of matches played, the manager. Mr D. Brooks, decided to request a replacement because there are still two of the four tests to come. The Lions are one down in the series.
