MEAT BOARD POSTS

Appointments In U.S.

The general manager of the Meat Board (Mr G. Anderson) has been appointed for a term as the board’s North American director, and Mr B. W Mills has been appointed promotion executive for North America. Both will take up their posts in September and will be based in New York.

Mr H. C. Douglas will assume the duties of New Zealand manager of the board. Announcing these appointments, the denuty-chainnan of the board (Mr C. Hilgendorf) said that they arose from the retirement on September 30 of Mr A. P. O’Shea who has been the board's director in North America since 1964. Because of the importance the board attached to the Canadian and United States markets and the developments in these markets, Mr Hilgendorf said, the board was increasing its activities in these countries. These activities included the various selling, marketing and promotion agencies concerned with New Zealand meat.
