"The Press” Special Service WANGANUI. Dunraven worked keenly at Wanganui yesterday in his Anal trial for the Mahora Handicap at Hastings tomorrow. Hi There will probably be the only other Wanganui galloper at the meeting as Fair Quota and Roger are unlikely to make the trip. Working on the No. 1 grass, Dunraven (Carroll) ran six furlongs in Imin 21sec the last three under restraint in 40 4-5 sec. After trotting around the centre. Hi There (Bradley) worked over 10 furlongs at a steady pace, being timed from the three furlongs in 44sec. Recent racing has brought about a sharp improvement in Hi There, which will appreciate the testing Hawke's Bay fences.

Smart Gallop By Barclay

"Th. Press" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Barclay and Supa ran good gallops at Awapuni yesterday morning in preparation for races at Hastings tomorrow. Good footing could bring Barclay Into favour for the Mahora Handicap and It would also suit Supa, which ran her best gallop for some time. Barclay worked on the Inside trial which provided good going. He went six furlongs in Imin 18 2-ssec, the last three furlongs in 38 2-ssec. Supa’s form Is not Impressive but she has been bogged down in her latest appearances. She has never looked better and her gallop yesterday could not be faulted. She ran a mile, the last seven furlongs in Imin 31 l-ssec. and the final three furlongs In 37 l-ssec. On the plough. High News ended two rounds by running his last half-mile In 54 3-ssec, tha last three furlongs in 40sec.
