Ghost Invited To Wedding

(N.Z. Press Asin. —Copyright) GLASGOW, May 15. A baronet who has been dead for 300 years has been invited to a wedding next month in an ancient Highland castle. In the hall of Craigievar Castle. Aberdeenshire, is the invitation to Red Sir John, the friendly castle ghost, to attend the wedding on June 1, of the Hon. Kirstine Forbes-Semphill, the daughter of the present occupier of the castle, Cecilia Lady Semphill, and the late Lord Semphill. “The invitation is to Red Sir John and the other castle ghosts to attend the wedding. I saw one of the ghosts a few years ago. There are eight or 10 of them, they are great characters,” said Lady Semphill. She said the invitation was her daughter’s idea. About 150 (live) guests will be in the castle for her daughter’s marriage to a chartered accountant, Mr John Cable, aged 29. Craigievar Castle, completed in 1627, has no electricity. Lamps and candles provide the only light.
