Market In Balance But Leaders Ease
Although the market was in balance in the New Zealand section yesterday, leaders were mostly easier. Turnovers were down and price movements moderate.
Firth Concrete, which since April has been rising sharply, lost 10c to 190 c in Auckland in the first sale for a week. N.Z. Refining continued to ease, losing another 10c to 608 c in Auckland. Rex Aviation. which in April passed its interim dividend, dropped 15c to 55c although there have been sales at 70c during May.
Marlin Carpets continued its firm trend, gaining another 20c to 240 c in Christchurch, A. B. Consolidated, which has been recently showing signs of revival, gained another 2c to 40c. Milne and Choyce, which has cut its interim dividend to 2 per cent, rose 3c to 39c while Property Securities rose another 3c to 85c.
