ECONOMIC PROBLEMS
Discussion In Singapore (N.Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright) SINGAPORE, May 13. Businessmen from 11 countries today discussed economic problems facing invest-, ment in Thailand, rubber pro 4 duction in Malaysia and industrialisation in Singapore at a meeting of the SouthEast Asia business committee in Singapore. Delegates attending the four-day meeting of the committee, an informal grouping of businesmen concerned with economic development in South-East Asia, heard papers on the three topics before holding private talks among themselves.
The conference, sponsored by the Standard Research institute, an affiliate of Stanford University, California, is being held to discuss practical approaches for private investment in development of the area.
