WELLINGTON, May 9. Cook Strait Hover Ferries, Ltd, has placed an order with a British firm for a $150,000 hovercraft to be operating a commuter tourist service on Wellington harbour by January, 1969.
Mr Phillip Chubb, a spokesman for the New Zealand company, said today a licence to import the craft was expected to be granted by early June.
The 60-passenger craft will operate a scheduled commuter service between Wellington and Eastbourne during the day. Longer, more comprehensive tours of the harbour will be run both during the day and at night
