Galley For Sea Cadets
A new galley and mess dining ball will be built at Cass Bay for the Sea Cadet Corps of the training ship Steadfast The building will cater for 100 cadets and will be in use In early spring. Friends and former sea cadets of the corps are being approached by the project organiser (Chief Petty Officer K. W. Adamson) for various items required for the building.
The Cass Bay training establishment, formerly the Royal New Zealand Navy’s Armament Depot in the South Island, has been in use by the cadets as a one-day training camp for three years. With the galley and mess dining hall week-end camps are being contemplated.
