Tooth and Company, Ltd, the brewery group, has increased its dividend to 17 per cent—the highest for moie than 40 years—after a strong rise in profit for the year to March 31. The profit rose $583,036, or 11.8 per cent, to a record $5,501,988. The recommended final dividend is 8j per cent. This resumes the impressive profit growth of recent years, which was checked slightly last year when earnings rose by only $33,831. Tax provision jumped by $1,120,000 to $5,700,000. Depreciation provision was $240,378 higher at $2,413,314.
The latest result represents 25.4 per eent on paid capital.
