Tractor Safety
Sir,—l see that only new tractors must have frames. New tractors are designed with a low centre of gravity for safety, whereas the older ones are not so manageable and are more unstable. A lot of tractors round the country are unsafe to drive. Why not introduce a warrant for all tractors? This could stop as many accidents as safety cabs, and ensure that all tractors, new and old, are as safe as possible. Most accidents are caused by tractor-drivers taking a risk or under-estimating the capabilities of their machines.—Yours, etc., TRACTORrDRIVER. May 3, 1968.
