Old Venetian Blinds

Old, wooden-slat Venetian blinds can be used effectively in a flower garden. Cut into eight-inch pieces and painted white, they make attractive little picket fences round the borders of flower beds. The full-length slats make trellises for light-weight climbing ptants. The heavier top and bottom stats provide strong anchor stakes. The stats will last about three seasons with no special care and much longer if given a yearly coat of white paint or whitewash.
