S.I. Slot-car Titles
The South Island slot-car championships, on a 32nd scale, were played in the Railway Hall, in Carlyle Street, at the week-end. Results:— Grand Prix.—F. Lamport 1, A. Hamblin 2, P. G. Benseman 3, R. Loader 4, M. Hamblin 5, T. J. Mayer 6. Sports and G.T. Class.—Benseman 1, C. Dillon 2, M. Hamblin 3, G. Salkeld 4, G. P. Thomas 5, Lamport 6. Junior.—W. Brown 1, C. Lambden 2, K. Lane 3, J. R. Kelly 4, P. Babbegie 5, J. Hawkins 6.
Out of Tests.—Mrs M. Ward (Wellington) has withdrawn from the New Zealand women’s indoor basketball side to play South Korea this week-end. Mrs J. Baker (Canterbury) has also withdrawn. Probably a Wellington player will be called as reserve.
