$2.7m Port Extensions

(N.Z. Press Association) TAURANGA, April 22. Proposals for extension of berthage, dredging, and other facilities for the Port of Tauranga at an estimated cost of $2,725,800 were adopted by the Tauranga Harbour Board at its meeting today. The proposal includes a 700 ft extension at the south end of the wharf at a cost of $1,290,000, work worth $136,000 on the cutter channel, in addition to the present $838,000 contract now under way, an $BO,OOO custom house and miscellaneous work on improving and extending railway sidings, storage and berthage facilities for board craft.
