A PIT PONY being brought to the surface at a large colliery at Ystradgynlais, in the Swansea Valley, Wales. This is the last pit in the valley to be closed. On the closing of the pits, the community is partly dispersed, and many people have begun a campaign to save village communities in the Welsh valleys.
