14 Named For Trials

Canterbury has nominated 14 players—eight backs and six forwards—for the All Black trials which will be

held at Wellington on May 4 to choose the New Zealand team to tour Australia in May and June. The AU Black half-back, C. R Laidlaw, and last year's Canterbury half-back, L. J. Davis, have been nominated for the same position. The nominations are.— Backs: W. F. McCormick, A. G Steel, P. K Hatchwell, D. A. Arnold. B. A. Watt, W. D. Cottrell, Laidlaw and Davis. Forwards: K. J. Tanner, A. E. Hopkinson, J. N. Creighton, A. Wyllie, J. F. Bums, L A. Kirkpatrick. Thirteen of those named played in the All Black trials last season; the new nomination is the wing, Hatchwell.
