FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A trough of low pressure to the east of New Zealand is moving slowly away; pressures are uniform over the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate variable winds; fine apart from isolated showers in the ranges; temperatures mild in the afternoon. Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate i variable winds; fine apart from isolated showers in | the ranges; rather mild in the afternoon. Buller and Westland.—Moderate winds with south-westerlies predominating; scattered showers clearing in the morning; fine, milder weather by the afternoon. Outlook. —Cloud increasing from the west: some rain later in Westland.
