A LEADING CANTERBURY SURF-RIDER, G. Wilkes seen in action during the New Zealand championships at Easter. Wilkes was placed second in a heat of the senior championship. The championships were to have been held at Taylor’s Mistake but because of unfavourable conditions were transferred to the Sumner extension of Scarborough beach.
