Whitehead, and the Rugby league writers of the two Christchurch newspapers. The player will be selected from the main game each week and his photograph will fea-

ture on the cover of the weekly the following Saturday. R. S. J. Irvine, who was named as the New Zealand Rugby League Year Book’s “Player of the Year” for 1967, will feature on the first publication of the season today. The first weekly award will be made after the meeting of Hornby and Papanui in the match of the day.
