TRAMPING CLUBS
Call For Local Committees The committee of the Christchurch Tramping Club was urged by the annual meeting to ask the executive of the Federation Mountain Clubs to have regional committees of clubs set up. At the annual meeting of the federation in Christchurch last May, a remit from the Christchurch Tramping Club proposing these committees was accepted and left to the executive. This week’s meeting was told that nothing had been heard from the executive. "Some of us are not too happy with the present setup,” said the president (Mr K. Bartram). “We feel that the federation executive has no real contact with the club,” he said. “Half the time we don’t receive minutes of its meetings until several months later.” Officers elected were:— Patron, Mr B. Cocks; president, Mr K. Bartram; vicepresidents, four were elected; club captain, Mr P. White; women’s club captain, Mrs P. White; secretary. Miss A. Henderson; treasurer, Mrs M. Vink; auditor, Mr G. White; committee, Messrs A. Sheppard, G. Swarbrick, J. Roberts, J. Hilton, L. Jones.
