(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 19. Prices for fleece wool, pieces and bellies at the seventh Wellington wool sale today were fully firm on values at the last Timaru wool sale.
However, according to the official report, lambs and secondshear wools—the bulk of the offering—were in buyers’ favour. Competition was mainly from the Continent with support from the United States Local Mills operated on lines
suitable for their requirements. The official report said 27,000 bales were offered. A large proportion of the offering carried dust due to the dry season. Although some lines were well prepared for sale, preparation of the remainder “left a lot to be desired,” said the report.
