(N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MANCHESTER. West Bromwich Albion reached the semi-finals of the English Cup soccer competition yesterday when it beat Liverpool, 2-1, in the second replay of their sixth-round tie. A crowd of 52,000 saw the centre-forward, J. Astle, give West Bromwich the lead in the seventh minute. Liverpool gained the equaliser 30 minutes later through T. Hateley. West Bromwich had the better of the second half and deservedly went ahead again when the wing, C. Clark, scored in the sixty-first minute. West Bromwich will now meet the second division club Birmingham City, in the semi-1 finals.
