40 YEARS SERVICE
Staff Officer Retires Mr L. C. Evans, staff officer in the office of the district traffic manager of the Railways Department at Christchurch, retired yesterday after 40 years with the department. Except for a short period when he joined the railways at Wellington, and five years when he was stationed at Rangiora, Mr Evans spent all his time at Christchurch. Mr Evans was bidden farewell at a function yesterday. He is interested in amateur radio and golf, and plans to retire in Christchurch.
