Key Used To Open Safe
Thieves used a key to open the safe of the Sandridge Hotel, In Colombo Street, on Thursday night. They took $1942.62 in cash. A book containing stamps worth $761.25 was taken from the counter of the Chief Post Office about 4.50 p.m. on Thursday. The stamps range in value between }c and $2. An unsuccessful attempt was made the same night to break open the safe of Flewellen and Lipscomb, structural steel contractors, Waterloo Road. In other thefts a wristlet watch valued at $3O was taken between 6 p.m. and 7.10 p.m. on Thursday from the dressing sheds at the Addington Showgrounds; $l2 in cash was taken from a house in Johns Road, and $2O was taken from a house in Brabourne Road.
