WOMAN TO DRIVE
•‘The Press” Special Servic* AUCKLAND. A 38-year-old Papatoetoe housewife will drive Mlles Gentry in an attempt on the Alexandra Park mile record at a matinee meeting there on Anzac Day. Mrs Nols Agnew, the horse’s regular driver in training, is to be granted a special conditional licence for the occasion by the New Zealand Trotting Conference. The secretary of the conference (Mr J. Rowley) said in Christchurch yesterday that Mrs Agnew’s application had not actually been received. ‘‘But we understand it is in the post —and it will be approved,” he said. "It will b, valid only for the time trial.”
