Barrhill Runs Good Trial At Addington

Barrhlll recorded a promising trial for the Core Threo--year-old Handicap tomorrow when he won at the Addington trials yesterday. Barrhlll led for the last nine furlongs and a half and recorded 5:44 2-5 for the 13 furlongs, the last half-mile In 1:5 1-5, and the final quarter In 34 2-5. Barrhill’s time was slow because of the very slack pace he set in the middle stages. He was pacing fairly strongly at the finish and if he handles the track conditions at Gore he should go close to winning. Hi Dryden, from 3S yards, went quite well to finish second, ahead of Bethel and Creditor. Dutch Courage won the other heat of the 3:30 class pace in 3:34 1-5, the last half-mile ip 1:14 4-5, and the final quarter in 33. Dutch Courage looks improved. Streakaway finished second, ahead of Jimmy Dick and Indian Sign. A filly by King Creed from Morsel in C. J. McLaughlin s Methven team, and Radiant Globe and Glide In won the heats of the two-year-old parade. Glide In took 2:4* 4-5 for his 10 furlongs, while the other took 2:44.

There was only one qualifier in four heats. This was Vandal, which paced the 12 furlongs in the smut time of 3:», the last half-mile in 1:2 3-5, and the final garter in 32. Raced by L. S. Dun. of Dunedin, he is a four-year-old gelding by Van Dieman from Dillon’s Advice, the dam also of the speedy Brigade's Advice. He is trained at Templeton by C. C. Devine. The three-year-old trotters, All Alone, Carsonelli, Oscar, Herrin, and Chichester, showed to advantage in the heats of the 2:20 class trot. All Alone won the first heat In 3:45 2-5, the last half-mile in 1:5 1-5, and the final quarter in 32. . Carsonelli finished second, ahead of Codex and Peter Creed.
