ST MARGARET'S DEBUTANTES

Thirty-three debutantes were presented to the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt Rev. W. A. Pyatt) and Mrs Pyatt and the headmistress of St Margaret’s College the St Margaret’s Old Girls’ Association debutante ball in the Winter Garden last evening. They were presented by the president of the association (Mrs J. N. Matson), who wore a gown of lavender brocade. Cut on classical lines, it had a deep, square neck trimmed with a flat bow at the back. Mrs Pyatt wore a simplystyled dress of gold-embroid-ered Chinese silk. Massed pink and white floral pieces, arranged by members of the old girls* association decorated the ballroom where the hanging baskets were also draped in pink and white.
