News Interim Profit Up

News Ltd, the newspaper and magazine publisher, television and radio investor, < lifted profit by 3222,702, or 74 per cent, to 81,419,656 in the six months to December 31. Last month an interim report from directors said there had been an appreciable increase in profits during the half-year and a substantial increase was expected over the full year. The interim dividend was raised from 5 to 6 per cent, bringing the payment into line with the full 12 per cent of 1966-67. The latest half s result was after lifting tax by 3149,848 to 3871,461 and depreciation by $86,763 to $486,763.
