Expo Pavilion To Cost $850,000

WELLINGTON, April 17.

New Zealand’s laminated timber pavilion at Expo 70 in Japan would cost $850,000, said its architect, Mr J. L. Newnham, today.

Japanese firm and will begin early next year for completion by the end of the year. The Expo will open .in March, 1970. The site covers 31,000 square feet and the building 20,000 square feet including a 5000-square foot mezzanine floor. The pavilion will be able to handle 2000 visitors an hour. A staff of some 35 to 40 New Zealanders will be employed in it. *
