Containers In 1972

LONDON, April 17
The four British shipping lines trading with New Zealand firmly intend to launch a container service in 1972, the managing-director of the Port Line (Mr D. Hollebone) said today. Mr Hollebone defended the decision to delay the container service until 1972 by pointing out that if a “rush venture failed, one guess would be enough as to where the first criticisms would come from.” x “It sometimes seems—to me anyway—that New Zealand has two national sports —Rugby football and knocking the British lines,” he said.
