Tour Hopes Dashed
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. One of Auckland’s big hopes for the All Black tour of Australia, the full-back, D. Laurie, has had his right foot set in plaster for six weeks. He chipped a bone and badly tore the tendons in an ankle playing in a benefit match at Silverdale on Saturday. The injury will cost him any ehance of winning All Black selection, for the trials are only two weeks and a half away. Laurie said yesterday he was thoroughly “cheesed off” with his ill luck. Injury in a pre-season game kept him on the sidelines for much of last season.
