B.B.C. Enters Controversy

The British Broadcasting Corporation has decided to risk a political row by screening a controversial play attacking Rhodesia's unilateral declaration of independence and British “humbug” about it. The play, “Thank God for U.D.1.,” has been written by Frank Clements, aged 53, a former Mayor of Salisbury, Rhodesia, who left the country after attempting to fight the Prime Minister (Mr lan Smith).
