Woman Killed
A woman was killed when her car (above) left the road at the Kahautara River bridge, eight miles south of Kaikoura, at 10.30 a.m. yesterday. She was Mrs Mary Suzanne Rogers, aged 65, of 32 Westminster Street, Christchurch. Travelling south on the main road, the car failed to negotiate a bend and dropped 20ft into the river. Mrs Rogers, the only occupant of the car, was admitted to the Kaikoura Hospital where she died soon afterwards.
