1961 Kiwi Suspended
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Rugby League Council last evening suspended the 1961 Kiwi, G. R. Bailey, from playing in New Zealand until July 1. Bailey, who played for the Gundagai club in the “rebel league” in New South Wales last year without having a clearance from the New Zealand council, was re-instated but immediately suspended at the last meeting of the council on April 2. Last evening an amendment that he be suspended for the complete 1968 season was defeated on the casting vote of the chairman, Dr L. J. Cooney.
