Dancing Title To Chch Girl
(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS. R. Maddaford (Auckland) headed the national mile champion, D. Sirl, in the city of Hastings mile at the Easter Highland Games at Hastings yesterday. Maddaford, running with Sirl (Auckland), K. Diprose (Putaruru), and E. Maguire (Auckland), on scratch, was third in the handicap event in 4mln 2sec. The race went to E. N. Kemp (Wanganui) whose 113-yard handicap gave him a time of Smin 59.35ec. Sirl was fourth. Results included: Men’s Open 880 Yards Handicap J. Kennerley (Hastings) 1, D. Smith (Sydenham) 2. P. McKenzie (Piopio) 3. Time, 1:54.6. New Zealand Championship Irish Hornpipe, under 18 years. —Lloma Hobbs (Wellington) 1, Karilyn Dombroski (Whakatane) 2. Rosemary Armstrong (Christchurch) 3.
